Reverend Dr. Renée L. Alston
Dr. Renée L. Alston is a native of Prince George’s County, Maryland, and is the daughter of the late Reverend Dr. Isaac and Lavana Alston. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from University of Maryland Global Campus. Dr. Alston was licensed as a Minister of the Gospel and ordained by the Reverend Dr. Henry P. Davis III at the First Baptist
Church of Highland Park, Landover, Maryland, where she serves as Minister of Congregational Care, Director of Senior Ministries and the Seasoned Saints Center, Women’s Ministry Executive Board Member, and co-leader of the Prayer Ministry.
Dr. Alston is a graduate of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University where she earned the Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education degrees. Dr. Alston is the recipient of the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Award for Academic Excellence in Preaching and Leadership. She is also a Princeton Theological Seminary Fellow for contributions in the Black Theology and Leadership Institute. Dr. Alston
earned a Doctor of Ministry with honors from the New Brunswick Theological Seminary with a concentration in Transformational Preaching. In 2024, Dr. Alston was inducted in the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. College of Ministers and Laity Board of Preachers at Morehouse College.
Dr. Alston serves on the following boards: Katie Geneva Canon Center for Womanist Leadership, United Communities Against Poverty, and The Collective Empowerment Group.
Dr. Alston is the proud mother of Dr. Monique Davis and the proud grandmother of two – Aaron Jeremiah and Gabrielle Ariana.
She is an anointed teacher and gifted preacher who preaches a gospel of hope, liberation, and justice. She deeply believes in the power of prayer and has a servant’s heart for God’s people.
She trusts God’s plans for her life according to Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” But most of all, Dr. Alston seeks to please God by doing His Will.
