Feb. 22.  Lenten Message

Feb. 15th

We know to be a follower of Jesus the Christ isn't as arbitrary or subjective as we've made it out to be.  Biblical scripture writes that Jesus clearly laid it out when He

says, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny her or himself and take up their cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23).  That description is a simple reminder

that separates the fans - enthusiastic admirers - from the followers!  Following Jesus means different things to us as growing and developing disciples of Jesus

the Christ.  Wouldn't it be great if the followers of Jesus would become known for their love throughout the world?

Our discussion this evening will focus on three questions:

1.  Why should all people - regardless of economic class, social status, age, gender, sexuality, or background - hear about Jesus?

2.  Who is the last person you shared the Good News of Jesus with?  What happened?

3.  How could sharing the Good News of Jesus change an entire community/neighborhood?
